Every looks pretty good, but he has an enlarged thyroid. His ultrasound was Thursday, Dec. 3rd and now we are waiting on the results from that. Many hopes and prayers that it is only scar tissue from the radiation. We should know by Tuesday!

***
Nov. 16th went in for his CT scan. His follow up is Monday, Nov. 30th. We are very hopeful for a clean bill of health and the beginning of a 5th year of remission. I wonder if someday we will loose track of when his cancer was.

***
Nov. 22nd, I did the 1st Women's magazine Women's 1/2 marathon in St. Petersburg. Although not the event I am raising money for, it was an event to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and there were several Team in Training participants. It was a great event. A little warm for November, but a nice venue around the waterfront and Old Northeast, St. Petersburg. I did manage to do at 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 14 minutes. Now, to get ready for Disney.

***
We're still waiting for Gil to get his 'new' teeth. With the holidays fast approaching and money being tight, he's been holding off on going to the dentist. We will get there eventually. In the meantime, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has opened a grant to research post treatment quality of life. This is very exciting research - for us and, I'm sure, thousands of others!

***
On Sept. 11th, Gil had oral surgery to have 7 teeth removed. He has undergone hyperbaric treatments to prepare for the surgery because of the damage the radiation did to his mouth. It all started with his last wisdom tooth, but there turned out to be a lot more radiation damage than we knew.

C. We bought him a corner piece that he seemed to like, but it was bigger than the corner it was put in and so different from his former bed that we tried another one. He kept chewing on it so we put the corner piece back and wondered what to do with the extra bed.

Sometime in Jan. or Feb. of 2009, new neighbors moved into the rental house next door; husband, wife, 3 kids. We often saw the kids coming home from school and one day I had to help them out as their mom wasn't home from college yet (she had just started classes).

One Saturday afternoon (2/14 - valentines day - to be exact) I noticed the van pull away from the house. A little while later, when I was in the garage doing laundry, I heard a dog whine. I checked to see if our dogs were out, but...nope...they were inside. When I came in, I told Gil "I think the neighbors adopted a dog and left him in the garage".

A few minutes later we saw a puppy wandering around the driveway. It was just past 1pm and we didn't know when the family would be home so we took him in. He looked like a beagle, so, not knowing his name, we called him Snoopy. He, of course, went nuts playing with Red & Merlyn. Around 5pm our in-laws came over for a cook-out and were surprised to meet the puppy until about 7pm when the family came home and we had to return him.

Over the next few months we found out his name was Brownie, we caught him the few times he took off through the neighborhood, trimmed a broken nail, sneaked him food in the backyard where he seemed to spend all of his time, tried to teach the kids how to train him and watched him 'play' with "grandpa's" dogs - wolf hybrids. The kids were pretty young, so I tried to work mostly with the oldest daughter, but she, at 8 years of age, seemed to be pretty afraid of the dog. Her two younger brothers wanted to learn, but didn't have the focus.

On & off we had discussed adopting another dog since Nikita had passed, but wanted to wait for Cleo, our oldest cat, to pass. But the appearance of this new puppy in the neighborhood had us really considering it again. I had a friend at school that was diligently on the look out for dogs on 'death row' and trying to find them homes that I started discussing dogs with.

About a month ago, we got a little worried as the family seemed to be gone all weekend, and people were coming by to look at the house. It turned out the husband was being relocated back to Orlando to the job he had been moved here from - managing an American Signature store - a complicated story and I'm sure a sign of our economic times. I asked the owner's daughter that was showing the property about the dog (a mistake??). She was taking care of Brownie while they were out of town but assumed they were taking the dog with them.

As it turned out, the kids were allergic (although I still wonder about some suspicious plants in the front yard) and the condo they were moving into wouldn't take pets. I was at school (work) when Gil contacted me and asked if I wanted the dog. As many times as we had plotted to take the dog I was a little worried, but it turned out that the wife had offered the dog.

We gladly adopted him and re-named him Snoopy. Now, he is 6 months old and has fun torturing Merlyn (dragging him by his back leg, wrestling & biting and some other...stuff), challenging Red, learning how we work, and, occasionally, sleeping in the spare dog bed!

C. I've noticed my dad is starting to match his age. We had good holidays, too much food, and a lot of time together. The pups & kitties liked having visitors around - more fun with newer people.
Sad news: Dec. 28th, 2008 Brenda Stima, one of my past team mates and an honored team mate for TNT lost her battle with multiple myeloma. It's so sad and shocking to all of us. In the meantime, we are still counting down to Disney, PF Chang Arizona & Gasparilla. Most of us have completed our longest runs and are in taper mode (Disney & PF Changs). We have to keep up the good fight - for Brenda and all the others.
Disney is less than 2 weeks away!!

C. He does have an appointment in May with the oncologist (Dr. Ball) and will be setting up for an annual physical with our general practitioner (Dr. Ray) soon.

Gil is still currently seeking employment, if you know of anyone seeking an employee!

Today we are going to the eye dr. - Gil feels his eyes may have changed some more. A little chemo, a little age, I guess it happens.

As for me, I just did 16 miles today - ok, honest truth, it was closer to 15, and I did not do well - I walked A LOT! Hopefully it was just a bad running day for me.

I've been taking the Wii to school. It's been a bit of a fund raiser with the kids - $1 to play. Something I need to enforce a little more than I do. But it's also been good for my side-job as school 'wellness coordinator' or 'champion' or something....I used the Wii fit portion to start our "Biggest Loser" program at school. And there has been anime club, salad day, Principal's brunch next week, and "Cold Turkey Day" (formerly known as the "Great American Smoke-out").
Soo much fun!

'til next time.

C. Nothing to do with Brittany Spears, but I think I have used that opening before.

Well, I have joined up again with Team in Training, the worlds largest endurance training and fund raising program. This time I am training to run the full Disney marathon (yup - 26.2 miles!). AND they asked me to be a mentor! How cool (or insane) is that?

So, let's see - school's back in session and we are enjoying some of the new stuff in our library (tables, chairs, built in presentation station - screen, sound & ceiling mounted projector). Hopefully I can get the Wellness program going and do a "biggest loser" contest with our faculty and do a 'fit fair' with the 3 other surrounding schools. And our first Anime club meeting is next week; and i have yet to do the faculty listing on the website, or Sept. calendar, or ...whatever else.

Gil is still looking for a job. He got a rejection letter from the county the other day, and an cofirmation/rejection email from one of his electronic submissions. I feel so bad that this is just such a bad job market right now and he's never had to job hunt before. It's rough, but we will manage. We've been in tougher spots before (I think)

Well, it's getting late and 5am comes awfully early after a nice summer of sleeping in.
AH - but Labor Day is coming! OH and I'm still signed up for the "human race" on Sunday. I don't know how/where/when I'm gonna squeeze in 6.2 miles after church, but...Can I do it? hummm.....

Don't forget....I need your donations! After the obstacle course (cargo net crawl, tires and hurdles), there was a course change - instead of going around the mangroves, which often meant going out into a little water, we had to run thru the mangroves, and the back area was really wet & mucky, like mid-calf. This meant a lot of single file run/walking. At this point, it was full tilt thunderstorm. When we hit pavement, my (prescription) sunglasses were almost impossible to see through. Then it was an other stint through some mangroves, and up onto shell and grass where we ran up and down hills, then around the end of the island and, as we hit the second set of hills we could see lightning hitting the water - not so bad - then hitting the hills! EEK!

Made me run a little faster.

Then it was back out onto the beach with another slight course change - a little more grass and no water run (usually the run goes about 200 yards out into the water, around a buoy, then back to shore for the finish).

I really have no idea what my finish time was - race clock said 35:??; my watch said 33:03 - if/when the pictures come out, I think I will have to buy them.

That was totally INSANE! Can't wait till next year!!

oh, btw - we found my car key about 20 feet from my car. Fell right out of my pocket (darn, so that's what the zipper is for!). Also, check out some pics I took at the June 27th run (http://www.myspace.com/librarylady411 - click "view my: pics" right under my photo, then select the "Picnic Island" album)

C. Everything is good and on track. Next years visit is the milestone: He recently turned 45 (July 5th) so I guess that means some extra special ...stuff. In the meantime, all is good.

Let's see...I've been running a lot. Hog Hustle 5k on May 7th, Picnic Island on May 30th and June 27th (Last one is July 25th), Dunedin Midnight run 10k 12:15 am July 4th; I also ran by Seminole High School's graduation (June 3rd).

I've been doing lot's of training since school let out - the first of which I was one of the instructors and it was my birthday. How fun is that? Yes, by birthday was very interesting...there was an accident on 301 & Interstate 275 three days before my birthday, so my birthday dinner with my parents was post phoned until they returned from their Delta Queen Cruise. We finally met up July7th for a double birthday dinner.

What else? Well, Gil helped me with VBS this year the week of June 16th. Our church is welcoming a new pastor. Cleo dodged the bullet; we thought we were going to have to put her down for the long sleep, but with fluid therapy, she is back to messing with the dogs. And...BIG NEWS ... Gil had a job interview with the county today. It's a county print job and he was the first interview. We are hoping for news soon - 4-6 weeks.

I guess that's about it. I go for another thyroid test tomorrow. I was put on 50mcg of Levothyroxin (Synthroid); I suppose that may change. I'll know in about a week.
Hopefully it won't be 3 months before I update you all again!

Much love to all ...

C. I actually thought I had already posted some of this information, but...well, on with the show...

I have (had?) what is called "Hashimoto's Thyroiditis" which is an auto-immune disorder. Not a big surprise - having the ANA's in the blood stream, tested for lupus, and having psoriasis. Thursday (4/10) I will begin taking thyroid medication (synthroid or generic).

Spring break was last week. It was OK - it wasn't work. I did some bookkeeping, a little house cleaning, hosted our nephew, David, for the ENTIRE WEEK! "Enjoyed" a little drama there - what is it with teenagers and drama?! Visited Mom & Dad in Pt. Charlotte. Tried to get back to a little running - decided to start joining TNT Alumni runs during the week. That was fun. Picked up a couple of French kids for their spring break - hosted them for 2 nights before their other host family was able to take them.

Really, that's about it! Mom had a catheratization today. All went well there. She'll have a reading tomorrow and we'll hopefully find out when she gets her stints put in. I've been back at work for almost 2 months now and things are going ok. Been a little tired; weight is starting to creep up. Had a blood test done last Tuesday, so I'm going on medication (as mentioned above). Not much really beyond that.

OH - I do have one bigger thing to mention. March 5th Dad & I did the Harbour Heights 5k. I ran it in 27:42 (22 sec. faster than last year) and Dad walked it in about 55 minutes. I also did the Carrollwood 'Tour de Village' 5k the following weekend - a trail race. Did it in 30:21 and took first in my age division - My first WIN!!

That's pretty big news!

OK - feeding time at the zoo....till next time...

C. Because of the drain, I had to sleep in our recliner, so Gil slept on the couch. Not exactly the most comfortable of circumstances.

Now, if I didn't mention it before, I was very taped up and couldn't lift my head to well. So, the next morning, when I went to get the drain taken out, I was walking a bit like Frankenstein's monster. I was trying to hard to straighten my back, but couldn't lift my head...so I looked so stiff. I was really happy to get that drain out and get the tape & bandages off, which left me looking like bride of Frankenstein (or Franken-chick as David called me). I felt I could handle a little more movement. As we left, Gil took me to Target where we got some soups, pasta, and other groceries that I could eat (my sore throat could only handle so much) and I bought a Starbucks coffee (of course!).

After that, things are pretty uneventful. It took a little bit before I was really comfortable in our bed - sleeping on my sides rather than my back. I'm not supposed to lift much and take it easy talking. Talking gets to be like a workout - the muscles get sore and the voice starts to waver. I did a little walking on the treadmill Sunday - about 1.5 miles. I need to get back to working out. Merlyn got into something in the backyard and I had to give him a bath, which, it turns out, he is over my lifting weight limit - 12 lbs.; I'm not supposed to lift over 10 lbs. And last night I went to give Gil a kiss goodnight and lost my balance. Funny how much you use your neck when you are trying to keep from falling forward.

Today, Tuesday, Feb. 12th, I had the staples removed. I feel I have a lot more movement in my neck. Turns out I had a benign tumor called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, an inflammation of the thyroid, but I don't know who Hashimoto is or how really it differs from a goiter except it's not an iodine deficiency. Should be good for a little research.

I'm still kinda tired, and very sore, like I've been "clotheslined", but I think I might try to go back to work Monday. I definitely want to give it a few days before I go back to work the kinks out of my neck. Voice still gets weak too. So, today is kinda blah. Good day to just sit home and continue my recovery.

Until next time...this ride is over!

C. Actually it was the second call, but I missed the first one and hadn't returned the call yet. It was the surgery center with all my pre-op instructions and questions - no food or drink after 12 pm, surgery was to be at 8am but I had to be at the center by 7am, had I ever had this or that, make sure to wear a button down shirt, and so on...

So about 5:45 am Feb. 7th we got up and got dressed; left the house about 6:20am. It was still very dark. When we arrived at the surgery center, I was surprised at the amount of children. Evidently there were about 5 kids, under the age of 10 scheduled for surgery very early. That made me so sad. About 7:30am I got checked in and about 15 minutes later was called to go in the back for prep. Gil was brought in a little later to see me off. Before I was taken, Dr. Steineger stopped in, 2 anesthesiologists, and one other Dr. that I don't remember hearing mentioned when they told me who all would be in the operating room. She made me nervous because she asked me all the questions I had already been asked by the pre-op nurse and some by my Dr. I was taken away about 8:15, I guess.

One of the anesthesiologists that had already introduced herself put something in my IV, and I quickly felt a cold sensation in my hand as they wheeled me away. I asked if that we my anesthesia and if I'd be feeling loopy any minute...that was the last thing I said as they made a left turn down a hall. Next thing I knew, I was waking up in the same place they took me away from.

It wasn't like I just fell asleep and woke up - I KNEW something happened in between. I heard them welcome me back. I smiled at Gil, and periodically acknowledged he was there. He looked a little scared. I didn't feel so good either, but mostly just sleepy. I don't remember too much at that point; I seem to remember the Dr. coming by and saying the operation went smoothly; I remember the Nurse getting me to sit up, breath, asking me if I felt ok...I felt a little rushed to get dressed and moving. Gil seems to think that was to get the anesthesia out of my system; I don't know, I think they needed the space. I felt a little queasy, but with the nurses help, I got dressed and we moved to a sitting area. There I really got kinda sick and dizzy. She waved some kind of wet-nap type pad under my nose. I'm sure it was like smelling salts (which, by the way, you never want to smell when you are ok - because they stink and will make you pass out). After some apple juice and coffee (which I spilled - good going Carol), we got under way.

Oh, somewhere in there, the nurse showed Gil how to clean out my "drain" - a tube that was under the incision , and about 5 foot of tubing on the outside that dumped into a bulb like bag. Yeah- almost every time we cleaned out that thing, I felt sick.

Well, we got home.I was so taped up at the incision that I couldn't lift my head and stand up straight, so my back was really starting to hurt. I got sick when we got home, but kept it in (eww). Once Gil got me settled in, he called him mom to sit with me while he went and got my medication - pain pills and anti-nausea. I slept through most of that.

Once, just before Gil got home, Mom got to talking to me. It's hard having a one way conversation because I really couldn't speak, let alone make much sense. It was then that I realized, Gil had practice, and Lori was supposed to sit with me, but I became real uncomfortable with that idea. I ended up being a bit selfish and asking Gil to stay with me instead of going to practice, which he did. We spent the rest of the day with him playing video games (Call of Duty 4 online with his Xbox 360) and me sleeping. I think I eventually had some tomato soup and crackers - was that dinner? And I know I drank some.

Well, that's enough for now. This looks like I'm writing a book! Who knows, by the time I'm done, it may be darned close!

Until next time...

C. I've also lined up my sub, so everything should be ok while I'm gone. As for my time off...

Surgery is Feb. 6th sometime between 7am and 12 noon at the Mease Surgery Center (dunno where that is off hand). I have a Dr.'s note that says I should be able to return to work Feb 25th, but I'm hoping to be ready sooner.
So, knowing that you are going to have your throat cut open and part of your thyroid removed, right near your trachea and vocal chords, how do you NOT worry?

Beyond that, who knows? I'm hoping to sign up for the Harbour Heights run in Pt. Charlotte on March 8th and the Carollwood run on March 12th. Anyone know the song by OK GO - "here it goes again"? Because all this is seeming a little too familiar.

Just to re-cap: A couple of months ago, during my physical, Dr. Evans noticed my thyroid was enlarged. Since then I have had an ultrasound and a nuclear exam (kind of like a CAT scan). It seems there are several nodes on my thyroid, and a particularly large one on the right side. My doctor didn't like what she was seeing and has suggested a biopsy.

Dec 27th I went to see Dr. Steiniger, an ear, nose & throat specialist, and he has suggested having the right half of my thyroid removed. OK - choices actually were: needle biopsy and have it removed or just have it removed. Either way, I was going to end up with it out, so why prolong the inevitable?

So what does all this mean? Good question.

At this point it means day surgery and about 2 weeks recovery time because it is such a sensitive area and he will probably have to move my vocal chords.

There is 80% chance it is nothing, but there is 20% chance it is something, but I'm not ready to go there yet. I'm not sure what else to say. I am still trying to wrap my head around this myself.
It's very hard having just finished Gil's cancer treatments only two years ago. I'll admit, I'm a little scared.

We haven't scheduled the surgery yet. I have the 1/2 marathon on Jan 12th - I've raised a lot of money, trained too long and too hard to give that up now. And 1st semester finals are Jan 16th & 17th. I'm also waiting for some input from my "bosses"; my supervisor says do it now, my principal hasn't responded yet - it's hard to keep up with work email over the holidays.

{sigh}

C. He's still clean, which, we figure he will be for a long time, but we still hold our breath! His next check up is May 1st. They are going for a CAT scan again, which he has a really hard time with the contrast shakes, but if he can do it, it's the most revealing scan (I guess). Two more check-ups like this and he will be moved to once a year check-up: over a year ahead of the normal check-up schedule!

Thanksgiving - I did the Turkey Trot again (5K) in 27:12 - a whole 1:29 faster than last year (28:41). My best so far! Mom & Dad came up for dinner, which was good and quite filling; too bad I kinda messed up on the temperature for the Turkey breast! Hmmm...holiday cooking...always an adventure.

I am still training for the Disney 1/2 marathon. I have almost reached my fund raising goal, but am still accepting donations. All the funds are supposed to be in by Dec. 28th, so if you haven't made a donation yet (or are feeling generous again)...go to http://www.teamintraining.org/ and click on "Find a participant" to search for me. I went in for an ultrasound and it looks like I have nodules on my thyroid. This is not terribly unusual; I believe that it has actually been swollen for a few years but wasn't noticed by the Dr. till I lost weight (which, actually, I lost a majority of the weight a few years back, but as most women know, the body keeps changing as we age and with the extra running...). I am supposed to go in for some kind of nuclear medicine testing...something..."They" will call with an appointment. I will try to keep you updated.

It was really good to see Jason & Suzanne Smart this week! We hope you had a safe visit and trip home. Well, just a quickie update:
My training continues. I am exhausted from waking up at 5am 6 days a week, but the running feels good. We (team in training) are just starting add mileage, so it's 3 miles 3 days a week and 4 miles on Saturday with a 30 minute run on Sunday (which I do with the dogs...so I walk a bit).

A little while back I had my first run at Ft. Desoto which included the Hillsborough and Sarasota teams. It was fun to meet others from around the area.

I'm lining up a couple of fund raisers around the area. As I get dates & more info I will let you all know. I'm looking at a couple of car washes thanks to our church youth group and (hopefully) the Seminole HS National Honor Society. I'm also looking into doing a garage sale.

I hope to see you at one of those!

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

Please remember - this is not about me. My husband, Gil has become my inspiration for running, but I'm also running for my family, members of my church, and all those who are battling blood cancers. They are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to find a cure!

Please support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission by making a donation.

http://www.teamintraining.org/ Find a participant and search for me.

Hopefully I'll have some good pictures soon. We had a long summer vacation this year and I got to spend all of it with Gil. Was it good? eh...we had a few moments, but most of it was good.

Best thing has been exercising together. I would run while he would ride his bike. I / we have really seen an improvement in his energy level. Although, now that summer is over, I don't know how we will get through our days without a nap!

Ok, evidently I have this nack for overloading myself so to speak. This year is no exception. I am PAST president of PALMS (Pinellas Association for Library Media (or inforMation) Specilaists), so that takes a little off my plate, but I will still be involved. But this year my big project is Team in Training...training for the Disney 1/2 marathon (13.1 miles) in January 2008.
OK - here is the letter I sent out to everyone I had an address for...

OK kids, well, I’ve gone and done it again. I’ve entered myself in another race for a good cause. This time it’s a little more personal.

I’ve joined the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training, the world's largest endurance sports training program that helps raise funds for research of blood borne cancers. I will be training for the Disney 1/2 marathon in January.

This will be the first time I’ve run with a group, let alone been “properly” trained for any event. I’m excited and a little nervous, but I figure, if Gil can endure 4 months of Chemo, 2 months of radiation and come out of it as well as he did, I can endure 13 miles.

But it’s not about me; it’s about those who are living with cancer. It’s about people like Gil, TNT’s honored teammates and all of us whose lives have been touched by cancer. It’s about the research so there will be new, better treatments, maybe even a cure. Imagine a world without cancer.

To train for this race I need to raise funds. This is where I need your help. I have a goal of $2,400, which is due by December 28th. 75% of the funds raised goes toward research, education, services and support to patients and families battling these cancers. Donations can be made safely online through the website, or you can send me a check that I will send them in.

My donation site is http://www.active.com/donate/tntscfl/CSterling.
While you are on the site, take a look around and check out what TNT and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is all about.

If sending a check, make it out to “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society” with my name in the memo section.

I will do my best to keep you up to date on my fundraising and training.

Thank you for your help, prayers, and joining me on my journey. Together we can save lives, one mile at a time.

I will leave this entry at that. My next entry should be around Nov. 7th after Gil's CAT scan. Maybe sooner...the TNT kick off party is this Saturday. If anything interesting happens, I'll try to let you know.

Much love to all!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, ... let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Lots of fun, music and FOOD! The Lupton's Boggy Bottom Ranch in Plant City was quite a place and they put out quite a spread - mac & cheese, BBQ chicken, pulled pork, hot dogs, cole slaw, and people brought desserts (Gil made some great lemon cupcakes while I was patching the fountain). Free food, Jason!
They did water balloon tosses, hula hoop contest, sing-along and just a bunch of water fun.

Some just kind of made up games of their own.

SO, that's the stuff we did BEFORE St. Augustine.

C. All is good, so far. Because Dr. Ball in on maternity leave, Gil saw a partner who is new to the practice. He was a little rough feeling the lymph nodes on Gil and prefers CAT scans. So, Gil will be doing a CAT scan sometime in November, which means he has to drink these nasty little shakes that he has a really hard time with. Oh well, such is health care. Hopefully Dr. Ball will be back in time for his next follow-up.

In other news, Jason has flown home to Hong Kong. We don't know if this is permanent, but we think he would be happier if he can attend a College/University closer to home.

Gil and I went on our second paintball adventure. I got popped a couple of times, once when we weren't even in play. Those unexpected shots will give you a new respect for our troops overseas - it can happen anytime! I'll still be darned if I didn't get anyone out! It would be much more fun if I knew I shot someone. Does that sound wrong?

Now, as for the new addition, no I wasn't referring to the post as a new addition. We have adopted Christian, our church cat. He is a beautiful and very healthy Siamese, about 5 years old, and is trying very hard to figure out who is "boss" of our animal pack. I think he beginning to figure out that the dogs rule around here - sort of. If he picks a fight with Cleo, he may get a real good look at the dogs because that is THEIR kitty. Anyway, they are figuring things out.

School is quickly coming to an end. We are still working on inventory in the library. Advanced Placement testing is happenings all this week, then final exams are Thursday & Friday, with Graduation on Monday May 21. I have my summer projects kind of planned out. And in June (10 - 13) we will be taking the pups on vacation with us.

My Aunt Ruth is being taken care of by hospice. We don't know how much longer she will be with us, but I pray she is pain free. I know she doesn't like the way she is having to live right now, so ... I'm not sure what to hope for. I guess that her passing comes quickly and painlessly - she deserves to be free of all this.

C. I didn't realize how long it had been since I did an update.
Anyway, Gil is doing fine. He went for blood work early February, all is good. His Dr. (Dr. Ball) is pregnant and due sometime soon, so she is on leave. I'm not sure who will do the follow up after his PetScan on April 30th. I'm sure it will all go well though.

OK, on to some big news.
The print shop is closing after 26 years of service. It appears they have sold the business, and will be "closing" on April 13th. The new owners will be moving in April 30th or officially taking over May 1 (same difference, right). Gil is looking forward to some much needed time off before he worries about what to do next. He's looking, checking options, he applied for a job with the school system, but he's not really on the hunt just yet.

We have recently discovered the joys of Paintball! We even have our own markers (guns) and the whole set-up. We played for the first time March 31st and had a blast! It was a few people from church and us (Jason, Gil, me (Carol), David, John, and Sterling (our other nephew)). That was at the end of my spring break.

Jason is finishing up his first year of college. I'm so used to knowing how he was doing in High School, now I just have to count on him for how he's doing in college, but he is his own worst critic (in other words, he always thinks he's doing bad). He is looking forward to going home May 5th and is trying to get into a college back home or in Australia. We wish him all the best.

I'm dealing with the end of school. SRI (reading) testing for the month of April, last Principal's Brunch on the 18th, PALMS (Pinellas Association of Library Media Specialists) end of the year banquet on the 26th (of which I am president, but get to turn it all over to a new board), Senior Breakfast on May 11th, and last but not least INVENTORY (wwweeeeeeeee)!

Well, that's all the breaking news for now. Until May 8th after Gil's follow-up, TTFN!!

C. I want you to know we do think of you often. To our family & friends here in Florida to family in New Jersey, Maryland, and Canada, across the country to California and anywhere our friends have ended up in between and the many kids we’ve hosted from overseas in Spain, Macedonia, Korea, Japan and the one in Hong Kong, we want to send much love and many Christmas wishes.

I also want to say, women who work and still keep the home are truly my heroes; especially those who have kids and go to school along with everything else. How you keep a home relationship is beyond me. Just trying to work and keep things running well at home has become so hard! Being dept. head for the library at school, President of PALMS (Pinellas Association of Media Specialists or inforMation Specialists), running, and just plain ol’ housework (including Gil & Jason)…. I can’t keep things organized. I wonder, now, how I kept it together last year when Gil was going through his treatments.

By the way, he is doing wonderfully. He sang in the church cantata (I helped with sound) and has been working on re-wiring the band set-up at church. Today we are hanging out with the McReynolds as there are 4 services at church today so, why bother going home to Clearwater when we just need to drive back to Tampa within a few hours.

But, back to the whole Christmas thing; I do want to thank everyone again for your support and love. We have really had a rough couple of years – Jason, 4 hurricanes, parents left “homeless” for 10 months, the loss of Nikita, Gil’s diagnosis and treatments, getting Jason through school and into college, I’m just muddling along, but we could not have done any of it without the support of our friends and family. We love you all very much.

Well, this may be a more personal blog on my side, but it's done; we are home, it's late, and it's time to go to bed.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

C. Then Gil and I went home, cleaned up and headed to SouthPort Square in Pt. Charlotte to celebrate Thanksgiving with Mom & Dad, cousing Jim and Aunt Ruth. Jason decided to stay home and take care of the dogs.

December 1st was the Anniversary Gil's first Chemo session. It came and went without much notice. But as he says, "hopefully we'll never have to do it again". We are all very thankful that it is done and over with, and that Gil is in good health to this day.

Well, December is a very busy month....Christmas performances, holiday parties, shopping, taking kids to the airport, and picking them up (ok, that's in Jan, but...), Christmas services, anniversary...oh, yeah....

December 21st we will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. Jason will be heading home Dec. 13th - we are very happy he will be able to spend the holidays with his friends and family in Hong Kong. We will be done with our Christmas cantata at church and on break from work by the time we celebrate our anniversary, so we are spending two nights at Inn at the Bay, a bed & breakfast in St. Petersburg. It will be a nice break, but we will also be looking forward to Jan...sort of.

C. Monday he had his follow up with the Dr. and....YAHOO!!!....he is ahead of schedule. In fact, he won't have another PET scan until March (but he will continue to have blood work done every three months). There was even more significantly less swelling in the lymph nodes around the neck (ok, how many are there and how big are they supposed to be anyway?). So he is healing wonderfully, and his blood work looks great, which makes us very happy. It seems he "dropped in" on the 4' half pipe (pike?) and, well, we're not really sure but we guess he came off the board on the slope. Anyway, at this time it looks to be a compound fracture and there will be surgery involved. Please pray for him and his family. He was supposed to be starting marching band this year, but now, will probably be out of commission about 2 months or more.

If you would like to send him anything, let us know. Also, if you do contact him, send him good, positive messages. He has already said he is giving up skateboarding, but he was also probably in a bit of shock at the time. Not much to do and no time schedule to get things done. I know I haven't posted in a while, but not much has been really going on. Let's see...

We painted/remodeled one of our bathrooms...

I (Carol) turned 40 on June 11th. Woo Hoo. In the meantime, Gil is dealing with what looks like a nasty sunburn on his face (it's even peeling) and a mouthful of sores. He's lost some weight again due to the inablity to eat at times, but his energy has stayed up and his attitude is good. We are all counting down the days - 2 more treatments, 3 days until graduation and 4 days till vacation!

Gil is told that in about 3 weeks this should all be behind him. I hope that is right. He gets his next pet scan July 6th and I hope that means he is done! All Done!

In the meantime - my next post should be from the sunny island of Key West. Well, it does turn out that Friday his treatment will change from the general area to a more pinpointed treatment for the next 10 treatments using the information from his last Pet Scan (and I would guess the x-rays they take might help).

Over the weekend I noticed a patch of hair on the back of his head was starting to thin and by Monday it was gone! It seemed so sudden. His jaw is very sore and he is using Orajel to help with the gum soreness.

Other than that all is good. I have Advanced Placement tests happening in the library this week and have started inventory. Gil put in the new soundboard at church...I'll be going with him Wednesday to help finish up what he couldn't complete Tuesday night, and Thursday I will help out with band practice. Jason has been checking on his college application status - looks like he might be spending one semester at SPC before going to a University. So, we are trudging on with life. At school I'm dealing with SRI testing, running the library, and today I had massive muscle spasms in my neck and right shoulder. Gil has work, started radiation and we are both dealing with services at church (actually, he was only home Monday, but I had a SAC meeting that night).

Anyway, last Wed. Gil had his fitting. As it was told to me, he was strapped down to a table and a heated cheesecloth like mold was stretched across his face, clamped down and he was left to cool & harden. No movement for several minutes! And guess what they used for a handle – one super pointy nose! When Gil saw the mask, he told the nurse he knew his nose was pointy, but it’s not that pointy. She had to excuse herself from the room – to laugh!

As for the radiation, his first day was like a blind amusement ride. They had to do x-rays and the radiation treatment at 2pm Tuesday (4/11). He said he was strapped down, his masked clamped on (which is evidently very uncomfortable) then he rolled around from the x-ray machine to radiation machine in the same room and it was all done. All of about 15 minutes! Now his standing appointment is 4:45pm every weekday for the next 4 weeks.

Only one more month and life will simplify – school will be over, Jason will graduate, radiation & chemo will be behind us, it will be time to relax (a little).

C. His mask will leave the jaw line and part of his neck exposed.

Radiation starts April 10th and should be about 15 minutes from entry to exit (only about 2 minutes of actual radiation). He should expect some hair loss at the exposed part on the back of his neck, a sore throat and some tiredness (about what he already experienced with Chemo). Realistically, this will just kind of slow down his recovery from the Chemo.

But he has been complemented that he is a big, strong guy and if he could make it through Chemo with one of the WORST drugs (adriamycin), then he should make it through radiation just fine.

That’s my man!

C. Gil had his PET scan last Friday (3/17 - one week after chemo; too early?) and it is still showing a reactive node along the jaw line near his right ear.

Radiation is the next step. He meets with Dr. Gauwitz on Wednesday and we'll find out how many sessions we are looking at. In the meantime, the hair is coming back (and it looks black!), his blood levels are better (no more booster shots) and things are beginning to return to normal.

Spring break is about to start and I'm going to be taking a little break by visiting my parents in Pt. Charlotte. It should be fun to do nothing for a few days - although I may pay for it when I get home (hahaha). I think it will be a welcome break for all of us... I will get some time away from the house duties for the weekend;
Jason and I get some time off from school; and hopefully Gil will get something out of it too.

Happy Spring Break everyone!

C. We were not sure how he was going to be feeling today and I did the "Wonder Walk" earlier to help raise money for the Tampa United Methodist Charities.

Well, chemo is over! Yeah! Gil is feeling pretty good...suprisingly good according to him. I guess those booster shots really did some good. He is growing a bit of a mustache (we swear it's coming in thicker than ever before). Anyway...the man himself has a few things to say:

A few things I've learned during this period in my life!

#1 When your doctor looks at you and say's "You've got Cancer", you will fall apart! Maybe not right when they say it, and maybe not in front of anyone, but trust me you will! And from there on your life is forever changed!

#2 While you go through treatment (chemo/radiation), it is not a 'Brave' choice, it is the only choice! Survival is the only option! I know this sounds a little 'Dark' for me, but I can't make this sound fun in anyway.

#3 Your life as I said earlier will change. People will treat you differently. Your family will act differently. You will act differently, and you can't wait for things to return to "normal" (whatever that is)!

#4 Getting a "Port" put in is the best thing I could have ever done, but getting it out will be even better. While it is the [best] way to get the chemicals in your body without doing any damage to your veins, in me, it has never felt like a part of my body.

#5 I MISS MY HAIR - PERIOD! [and he means not just the hair on his head] There is nothing else I can say. People can say I look good, I look younger. The best looking bald man I know is Bruce VanWingerden, not me!

Well those are some of my "Grand" insights to having Hodgkins. I want to thank everyone for all their support, especially Carol my wife, and Jason (our exchange student), My parents, and sisters, and everyone at TTUMC for helping me through this time. It's not over yet! I still have a test or 2 to go through [Blood work March 16; PET scan March 17], and some radiation treatments possibly, but I beleive I am now through the worst of this. For now all I want is MY HAIR!

Gil

208 105/68

C. Right now he is dealing with a lot of fatigue and low hemoglobin. He was given some kind of blood booster shot with this last round. His blood count was down to 11.2 (below 11 and it's no more chemo - which may or may not be a good thing). He still has prickly peach-fuzz on the head, but then again, he hasn't had a haircut since Sept.

t's been one crazy couple of days. My supervisor wouldn't give me credit for a training day Monday because I had to leave early to pick up Jason. Jason's toilet got plugged Wed. nite, and out heat went out Thurs. AM. The hemoglobin is a bit low, but due to a calculation error, a count of 12.6 is ok. It's when the count gets to 11 that we have to worry. How do you get your hemoglobin up? I still have yet to really research that. Blood pressure is still a little low. All of this seems to be a rest issue. As it turns out his hemoglobin is low...12.5; it needs to be at 13 or above for him to be able to have his chemo this week. He needs to get rest (yeah, right...if you know Gil, he hasn't slowed down much) and ...I'm not sure what, but I'm going to try to get him to take some iron pills this week. I know he's not really into leafy greens, so that's the best I can do.

He still hasn't quite shaved his head. He keeps meaning to, but the between his business and the hairstylist next to his shop, it's just been to busy. So everyday, I wait to see if he comes home shaved. His hair is very sparse - his eyebrows have thinned alot, it takes better than a week for any growth to even be felt on his face; the biggest thing we have noticed are some body odors and uncontrolled sweating around the mouth (maybe more than should be known, but...).

OK, well, now that I have overshared...

This week we have chemo coming up, if all is good with his blood count. Gil is hoping to talk the Dr. down to only 2 more treatments, but I'm not sure it's going happen...but I suppose if everything is really going better than anyone hoped for...who knows what could happen.
I will hope to have some happy news this weekend!

C. The benadryl was the only thing kept at a higher level. Also he is back to taking his old anti-nausea medication (a generic Compazine).

Monday he will probably remove what hair he has left. We have found that baby shampoo (actually body wash/shampoo) is best for his super senstive skin right now. Regular shampoo was starting to really irritate his scalp.

He say's he actually feels pretty good right now. We have this week off from church, for which I am grateful - even if he is feeling ok. I was so afraid he would be so sick like he was last time...I glad Phil took my suggestion to the next level, even if Gil wasn't.

Anyway...
4 down, 4 to go!

209 116/76

C. Unfortunately this created some side effects we were not expecting. Nausea has actually increased, low grade fever, along with general weakness and being tired. I'm also wondering if he has caught a cold (he has a stuffy nose which is not a typical side effect of the chemo that I'm aware of). I'm not sure what to do at this point. I know he has another treatment coming Jan. 12, but I'm worried that he may not have recovered from this treatment completely. He sees the Dr. at his Jan. 12 appointment, so I'm sure he will mention all this to her.

Other than that - Mom & Dad (Horton) will be coming to visit Saturday, and Jensen returns from Hong Kong Sat. evening. We are all back at work - Jason and I went back to school Monday (1/2) and Gil went back today (1/3). None of really wanted to go, but...such is life.

WAAaaaaa!!

C. I’m about to ring in the new year sitting on my front porch, sparkling grape juice at my feet (and I just set my glass on a slug – eww), David’s next to me and Merlyn is on a leash. The fog has rolled in - or is it smoke from the fireworks?
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Ah – fireworks, sirens, whining dog whom David just took for a little walk. I hear distant voices probably wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Gil is asleep, Jason is playing Chinese chess and David made it back awefully quick from a walk down the street. I’m truly surprised Merlyn isn’t barking.
Well, I suppose I should be getting off to bed. Hopefully this next year will be better – no more hurricanes, no major sicknesses, Jason will be heading off to college….all I can ask for is a slightly more calm and quiet new year.
God bless.

K-bang – that one was close!

C

C. Now, just so ya' know...each "round" consists of 2 treatments...day 1 and day 15 of the cell cycle. Gil gets a booster shot for his white cell count the day after a chemo treatment and blood work on opposite weeks (i.e. next Thursday).

Some of the other expected side effects are starting to show. Dry mouth, coughing, and one little mouth sore. The coughing has been keeping him up at night. He is very dehydrated, so drinking more is becoming an issue. Almost funny considering how much he's had to use the restroom lately.

I do want to thank everyone again for your support. My mom has obviously been keeping up with the blog. For Christmas she gave us some rather nice looking doggie bags – the kind you get from a restaurant. As decorative as they are (and they say “enjoy” on the side), that’s not the kind of doggie bag I was referring to! (I’m practically laughing as I type this and was laughing Christmas morning). In case it wasn’t terribly clear, I was referring to the doggie bags one would buy from a pet store for picking up doggie poop. They come on a nice, compact, convenient little roll. But, thanks anyway mom – I keep one in my purse now!

We also found that the Chloraseptic strips work well as cough drops for someone with a sensitive gag reflex. After discovering this, Gil got some decent sleep last night. Now I just have to find a way to keep him well hydrated.

211 118/80

C. I'm beginning to wonder if every treatment is going to be different. Friday he got his booster shot and no side effects other than being tired. Later in the evening he started to get a bad taste in his mouth. Saturday morning he did the usual morning thing of using the restroom and tried to come back to bed, but in seconds was using his bucket and running into the bathroom. His nausea seems to have been rather sudden this weekend. Rather than feeling like he had the flu, he was fine...then he'd be sick suddenly for a few minutes! He had to leave service twice on Sunday...fortunately it was after he was done playing (I think!). I guess it's a good thing it's only dry heaves.

Did I mention the nurses were surprised he still had his hair? Now, I have a theory about that. I think he is losing hair at a normal rate...you know, we all lose some hair everyday...I just don't think it's growing back like normal. SO...by the end of these 4 months, he may still have a full head of hair, just a little thinner.

Some thing I've discovered. The roll of doggie bags that I use when I take the dogs for a walk (you can buy them at pet stores) make better barf bags than grocery bags do.

Next time, though, we have to try something to relieve some intestinal distress he is dealing with after treatment. A little fiber therapy.

Ok, more than anyone really wants to know, I'm sure. Well, better get on with my day. Gotta take the boy to change over a bank account and get his haircut. Gotta love "vacation".

C. He will see Dr. Kuo (cardiologist) again on Jan. 13th.
The Pet scan also looks good...all infected areas are contained on the right side of the neck.

An interesting turn of events: at the last Chemo session they had given him a test shot of one of the drugs (Bleomycin) because many people have an allergic reaction. After the test shot, they administered his first drug (Adriamycin). He broke out in hives and it was assumed it was the Bleo. The plan was to give him Benadryl before the Bleo. But, today, they administered the Adriamycin first and ...well...it turns out THAT's what he is allergic to. (the four chemicals are Bleomycin; Adriamyicn (or Doxorubicin); Dacarbazine and Vinblastine)

He is very tired already; say's his legs are real weak. I understand why parent’s hope their kids have kids "just like" them.

Anyway, Gil had his radiologist appt. today. I was gonna post the results on Friday, but might as well do it now while the memory is fresh. Of course I (we) are also trying to figure out what to do for dinner too. Jason is sick with laryngitis, so he's being a bit picky about what he can & cannot eat (and we can't afford to let him starve...he's a toothpick already!). I have been trying to keep things so clean: I disinfect the kitchen counters every night. And I've been washing my hands and am trying to get in the habit of drying with paper towels. Well...?

On to the appt. info:
It turns out that one of the chemicals that Gil is getting (Adriamycin) does not work well with radiation...the two cannot be done at the same time. So he has to wait until after Chemo is finished before starting radiation.

SO…March 9th he should be finished with the Chemo, and he will get another PET scan (or CaT scan…from what he says they are pretty much the same). At that time, they will determine if there are still any signs of the Hodgkin’s left. IF there is he will require 15 treatments of radiation, which means treatment every day (week day?) for 3 weeks. Each treatment takes about 2 minutes from entry to exit. So I guess there is great hope that the Chemo may take care of the issue it self.

As it is, the radiologist (Dr. Gauwitz) could not find any sign of swelling or swollen nodes in his neck, although the PET scan said there were still some there. The Chemo may be doing a great job already!

I want to thank EVERYONE so much for your comments and prayers. Your love and support is appreciated.

C. Now, I guess I was remiss on some things I posted not to long ago. In the post "1st Chemo Treatment" I mentioned that Gil got the results of some of his tests back, but I guess I didn't say which result belonged to which test. His bone marrow test was to see what stage he was in, which turned out to be 1A...the cancer is in its earliest stage and located only in one area (right side of his neck) with no symptoms.

The blood tests that they will be doing every other week (opposite his Chemo treatments) are to check his cell count (specifically white cells). I have to be careful about preparing food and cleaning up so as to not chance contaminating anything. I also have to make sure I wash my hands frequently and I should use paper towels to dry...I guess that is to keep from spreading germs that might stay in fabric. Now, I just need to find a good hand lotion!

This week will be the rough one. It's the week before winter break at school and the week of exams which means (for me) dealing with kids who are exempting exams and have nothing better to do in school...to teachers send them to the library. Joy for me! This is also the week Gil with find out about his radiology treatments and have Chemo (and hopefully get the results of his most recent tests). I'll try to post info on Friday.

BTW - it seems as though the hairloss has started. He was helping out his friend Kenny with a computer program when Ken noticed some odd hairs, and pulled out a small chunk (about 20 hairs). Gil was a little depressed, but says he had noticed a change in texture soon after the first treatment. I guess we might be doing some hat shopping soon.

C. I guess that means that his cell counts are still relatively normal. Today he had a pet scan (I guess, from what he has told me he fell asleep in the tube) and echocardiogram.

Now, I guess I need to do some research, because I'm confused with all these scans. His first CaT scan (which originally I was told he was going in for an MRI), he was given a shot of iodine and then his head and neck were scanned with what he calls a "stargate" type machine...I guess a circular machine that he goes in and out of like a copier. 2nd time, he had to drink 2 shakes (barium?) before his full body scan. Now with the PET scan, he was in a tube. I'm very curious about the differences.

Well, next week:
Tuesday, he meets the radiologist (12/13) and finds out the treatment plan there.
Thursday (12/15) is his second chemo treatment, so we expect a rough weekend.
By then, I guess we will know the results of the PET scan and echo. Hopefully all is really normal with his heart and there are no more infected areas.

I just can't wait for the end of next week. I know for Gil it means feeling sick all weekend, but for me it's the beginning of winter break from school. I need it...we need it. As the holiday approaches, the kids get nuttier and more annoying!

If Gil gives me more details, I may edit this a bit later. I yelled at three kids today. I am so tired of the constant "...yeah, but..." or "...no, but..."; wrote them up on referrals. Now the only problem is they will be in IC (the Intervention Center) tomorrow...in the library. grrr.....

Anyway, Gil went to the cardiologist today. She and Jason have something in common...they are both Asian! Dr. Kuo did an EKG - it was normal. On Friday they will do a PET scan and an Echocardiogram. Usually, the MugaScan is more accurate (or so he was told) so our guess is that the Echo is only to confirm (or not) what the Mugascan found. He will still probably have to get a heart check every couple of months.

Tomorrow he get some blood taken for blood work. Then Friday, the two tests. So much fun.

C. He is still very tired, but pretty much back to his old self. Joking around with Jason, setting up his new Xbox, taking the dogs out and fixing the outside decorations (lights that I put up Sunday, but keep falling down). I'm sure he'll be playing with his Xbox after his appointment with his cardiologist tomorrow.
'Till then....

C. We appreciate all the prayers and words of encouragement...keep it coming. We need all the positive reinforcement we can get, even if it is a little hard & humbling to accept. (the picture is from Scott Neumeister's B-day at Byblos restaurant on Nov. 18)

Now, just to get anyone who has missed it "up to speed", here's the reader's digest version of what's been going on.

Sometime in late August, Gil noticed a swelling on the side of his neck. Thinking it was an overdevloped muscle or some wierd painless pulled muscle, he went to Dr. Ray who became concerned.

From there he had a CaT Scan done on Sept 9th, which, at first, he was given the impression all was good. We later found out they saw multiple suspicious lymph nodes.

A "fine needle aspiration" was done (which someone really needs to redefine "fine" needle). Dr. Jerry scared him a fair bit asking if he had ever been diagnosed with Cancer before.

Oct. 14th, he went to surgeon Dr. Berry who was unimpressed with the lump on Gil's neck, but knew the lymph nodes had to go. He figured they were just reactive...used up; he was surprised to find they were malignant. (surgery was Oct. 20th with a follow-up on Oct. 28th)

Nov. 17th he went to see Dr. Ball oncologist, but once we did...it was 0-60! (FYI - our exchange student, Jason, was hosted by Dr. Andy Hano his first year here - Andy & Dr. Ball are partners in medicine)

The week of Thanksgiving:
Nov. 21 - bone marrow test & consultation with Dr. Berry to put in a port (under right collarbone for chemo treatments)
Nov. 22 - Port put in
Nov. 24 - I ran the Turkey Trot 5k (32min 56 sec) and hosted Thanksgiving dinner

The next week...
Nov. 28 - muga scan (heart scan?)
Nov. 29 - another (but different) CT scan
Then Dec. 1st he had his first Chemo treatment with a white cell booster shot on Dec. 2nd (see previous post).

The next few weeks include even more stuff
Dec. 7 - Cardiologist
Dec. 8 - Blood work
Dec. 9 - PET scan & Echocardiogram (?)
Dec. 13 - Radiologist
Dec. 15 - 2nd Chemo

Well, I'm probably posting more info. than Gil really feels anyone needs to know, but it also helps me remember. This is also probably a good place to chronical stuff just in general...we can look back on this in a year and see what was going on.
Anyway...on with my day (Thanks Phil & Deah and everyone for giving us the rest of the day "off").
Till next time!

C. He also got the results of his bone marrow test, mugascan and CT scan.

First off: He is stage 1A for Hodgkins. It's the earliest stage possible and no symptoms. That's a good thing. Only 8 chemo sessions, so....one down, 7 to go. We figure that will be done by about March 9th.

2nd: He has another infected lymph node just inside the right jaw (which may account for some trouble he has had with his teeth). This will require radiation therapy. At this point we don't know much about when that will start or how long it will take.

3rd: his heart is only working at 42% and should be working at 50%. Now he will have to go and have a echocardiogram done. We don't know at this point where this may go.

Yesterday (Dec. 2) he was given a booster shot to boost his white cell count so he can fight infections better. It's made him a little achey and chilled so Gil was feeling a little like he has the flu. I think he might be a little better this morning, although he is dealing with a little intestinal distress. Merlyn and Red are doing their best to show their love (Merlyn is laying in Gil's lap as I'm typing this).

Well, I suppose I should get on with my day. Laundry to do, groceries to buy, Christmas tree to set up...maybe even time to get some Christmas shopping in...humm....

C.
